The Spirit of Adventure is alive in Carbon County. There’s nothing better than hitting the open road to explore. With wide open spaces as far as the eye can see there has never been a better time to visit this amazing destination.
Along the Colorado–Wyoming border you travel through three charming towns steeped in frontier history — Baggs, Dixon and Savery. The Baggs Outlaw Stop & the Little Snake River Museum are can’t miss sites along the way. We recommend taking the Battle Pass Scenic Byway through the area.
The towns of Encampment, Riverside & Saratoga all lie along the banks of the mighty North Platte River and are ideal spots for outdoor recreation including fly fishing, hunting, hiking and mountain biking. Make sure to take in Hobo Hotsprings in Saratoga. It’s a fun and free local attraction you won’t want to miss.
Elk Mountain, Hanna & Medicine Bow are great places to discover the history of Carbon County. Each community features a fantastic museum!
Sinclair and Rawlins both offer access to the Seminoe State Park where you can hike, boat, fish or play on the beach. Other popular attractions include the Wyoming Frontier Prison, Rochelle Ranch Golf Course (where the antelope really do play) and downtown mural walk.
