The Los Angeles Lakers had a lot of problems last season but there were some huge highlights that really stood out.

One of those highlights was Austin Reaves, the young shooting guard fresh out of Oklahoma.

Reaves put up 7.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists a game and soon became a fan favorite.

Fans were loving Reaves and shouted his name from the stands, including his colorful nicknames.

Speaking of those nicknames, Reaves is ready for new monikers in the upcoming season.

He’s apparently ready to move on from “Hillbilly Kobe” and “AR-15” and is looking for suggestions for new nicknames.

Do you have any that would be suitable for this up-and-coming star?

Hillbilly Kobe No More

Reaves, who idolized Kobe Bryant his entire life, gained the nickname Hillbilly Kobe because of how much he attempted to play like him.

As for AR-15, that one speaks for itself.

You can understand why he would want to get rid of those nicknames: he probably doesn’t feel like he deserves to be compared to Bryant and he might feel uncomfortable about the gun reference given everything that’s been happening in America lately.

But what names will best replace them?

New nicknames will likely emerge in the season ahead as more people watch Reaves and see what he’s capable of.

He had quite a few games when he played with incredible speed and stamina and also sank some wildly impressive three-pointers.

Watching Reaves play is very exciting and fun and you can quickly understand why so many fans are taken by him.

He had a great first season with the Lakers but his second could certainly be even better.
