Fort Laramie National Historic Site. Wyoming's 1st Settlement. Oregon Trail. Spring Break 2021
April 7th, our 2nd stop of Day 5 on our 1800 mile Spring Break 2021 road trip brought us to Fort Laramie National Historic Site. Fort Laramie is Wyoming’s 1st Permanent Settlement. It is located on the Oregon, Mormon, & California Trails and was a resupply point for many early settlers. The historical iron bridge that was built across the Platt river for settlers to access Fort Laramie still stands today. The entire site is filled with ruins of buildings along with many others that have been restored. Many building you can access and have been decorated & furnished with relics and artifacts from the early days of Fort Laramie. This was an interesting stop along our Spring Break trek across Wyoming. Enjoy!
