The New York Jets are joining the alternate helmet bandwagon with their Stealth Black helmets.

While there are no details yet on when they are going to wear it, the design basically sports that of their old helmet.

It also adds the football element which is not present in the green helmet that had the same design.

Of course, this helmet goes well with their all-black uniform that serves as an alternative to their green and white kits.

The green color of the protective grid also adds to the wonderful contrast between the two colors.

Maybe, the black helmet will also cast black magic upon their opponents to help them win.

But kidding aside, Jets fans hope that the alternate helmets will motivate their players to do better.

If not, at least they have a new design to add to their collection.

Jets Finding Ways To Spark Interest

The black helmet is one way of generating the attention of their fans who have disregarded the team because of the recent performance.

They haven’t had much to cheer about because the team has not entered the postseason since 2010.

Since then, the Jets only have one winning season and have nonstop losing seasons from 2016 to 2021.

Therefore, they need more ideas to create buzz and the black helmet is a subtle idea.

Still, the fans would prefer having a competitive team rather than the black helmet.

However, they could turn the tide this year because of their draft picks Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner, Garrett Wilson, Jermaine Johnson II, and Breece Hall.

Zach Wilson‘s maturation on the field will also help the Jets shake off their depressing recent history.

If they rack up the wins, the black helmet will make them look and feel good.
