All-Pro running back Jonathan Taylor has been a dependable contributor for the Indianapolis Colts in his first two NFL seasons.

The former Wisconsin standout finished his rookie campaign with 1,169 yards and 11 touchdowns.

He followed that up by winning the running back Triple Crown after leading the league in rushing attempts (332), yards (1,811), and touchdowns (18).

Taylor also has 659 receiving yards and three touchdowns for the Colts.

His dedication to practice could be a huge reason for his success.

Unfortunately, he was forced to commit something he hadn’t done in ages.

ESPN’s NFL insider Adam Schefter tweeted, “An Ironman streak quietly came to an end Wednesday when Colts’ RB Jonathan Taylor missed his first football practice due to a toe injury. Until Wednesday, Taylor never missed a practice at Salem High School in New Jersey, at Wisconsin, or with Indianapolis.”

There is no word about the injury’s severity or if he will miss the Colts’ Week 4 game against the division rival Tennessee Titans.

However, it must be a weird feeling for him not to participate in an activity he has been regularly doing since high school.

But rest is what he needs because his numbers have gone down over the first three weeks.

Taylor Will Try To Regain Strength

He started the season on cue with 31 carries for 161 yards and a touchdown against the Houston Texans.

Since then, his production has regressed.

He had 54 yards on nine carries in their Week 2 defeat to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Then, he had 71 rushing yards in their victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.

His consistency will help the Colts take off and secure more victories.

If he sits out the game against the Tennessee, football fans will be robbed of a potentially great showdown between him and Derrick Henry.
