Palaszczuk ‘resorting to media spin’ after release of integrity report should 'concern every Queensl
Sky News Digital Editor Jack Houghton says for Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk to resort to “media spin” following the release of an integrity report into the state’s public sector should “concern every Queenslander”.
Mr Houghton said the Queensland government has been rocked by a “scathing report” into integrity issues by Professor Peter Coaldrake, who has warned the state government has systemic issues with public sector bullying and making politicised decisions.
“Instead of acknowledging her shortcomings and how bad the findings were, the Premier got defensive and suggested the findings didn’t even trouble her,” Mr Houghton said.
“And I think by watching that press conference you get an idea of what Coaldrake was suggesting. This is a government which is incapable of taking criticism or tough questions from the media without lashing out,” he said.
“A real leader takes responsibility when the culture of their operation is tainted.”
