Sacajawea’s Gravesite | Wyoming’s Historic Women | Fort Washakie, WY

Along the winding roadside of Wyoming a small brown sign emerges from the outlying border of Fort Washakie, WY. This sign indicates the final resting place of famed Native American women, Sacajawea. It is here that you will find a special tribute to her honor in addition to a statue and signage explaining her role in the movement west of Lewis & Clark. Today we are paying respects and visiting this special place.
