Stat Proves How Daniel Jones Stood No Chance Monday Night

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones did what he could to earn a Monday Night Football victory over the Dallas Cowboys.
He threw 20 completions for 196 yards and had eight carries for 79 yards.
His production from the ground was just two yards shy of Saquon Barkley‘s output.
Still, those numbers were not enough to defend their home turf.
Aside from throwing a late interception to Trevon Diggs, Jones could not execute the offense because the Cowboys defense had its way.
Biggest reason the Giants lost their 7th straight Monday Night Football game: the Cowboys defense generated its most QB pressures since 2017.
Daniel Jones was pressured a total of 24 times Monday night, the most by a QB this season, and the 2nd-most over the past two seasons.

ESPN’s NFL insider Adam Schefter tweeted, “Biggest reason the Giants lost their 7th straight Monday Night Football game: the Cowboys defense generated its most QB pressures since 2017. Jones Seeing The Cowboys Heat Closing In
The Giants had 67 total plays in their 23-16 loss to the Cowboys.
Therefore, Jones had no chance to complete their plays 35.8 percent of the time.
That’s a high amount of pressure, especially in a close game.
Eventually, Dallas had five sacks on Jones, three of which were from DeMarcus Lawrence.
Micah Parsons was relatively quiet throughout the game, but his presence was enough of a threat for New York to forget guys like Donovan Wilson and Dorance Armstrong Jr.
As a consolation, Jones was able to find the middle of the field for huge gains using his feet.
But he had no chance when it was time for a pass.
The statistic Schefter shared reveals some problems with the Giants offensive line.
They cannot afford to make Jones uncomfortable if they want to avoid consecutive losses.
Therefore, they will go back to the drawing board to prepare for their Week 4 opponents, the Chicago Bears.
