The Orioles Made Rare MLB History With Another Win

Every team in the American League East division now has a record of .500 or better.
The Baltimore Orioles made that so last night, as they defeated the Chicago Cubs by a final of 4-2 and ran their winning streak up to nine games.
They rallied from an early deficit at Wrigley Field and continued their surge, remaining two games behind the Toronto Blue Jays for the final AL Wild Card spot.
The Orioles are proving to be a lot better than we all initially expected and are taking it right to their opponents.
Stats By STATS tweeted an interesting fact, that the Orioles are now the second team in baseball history to have a nine-game winning streak just one year following a 110+ loss season.
The @Orioles are the second team in MLB history to lose 110+ games one season and then have a 9+ game winning streak the next.
The other was the Louisville Colonels, who went 27-111 in 1889 before having winning streaks of 12, 11 and 10 games in 1890.

Orioles Doing The Unthinkable
How is this happening?
This team looked like it had no hope of even coming close to contention in 2022.
But maybe it’s 2012 all over again, when the O’s came from out of nowhere to win 93 games and earn a postseason berth.
This ballclub is red hot and is dominating at every turn lately.
Yes, they may still sit at the bottom of the AL East division, but that doesn’t mean they’re a bad team.
It just means that the AL East is ultra-competitive this season.
This is by far the toughest division in the entire league, but the Orioles have somehow found a way to emerge as a contender.
It’s going to be very interesting to see what they decide to do at the trade deadline.
With that extra Wild Card spot and the way they’ve been playing lately, it might be time for them to add some pieces and enhance their chances at making a run.
