Two men arrested in Laramie on alleged assaulting peace officer charges
LARAMIE, Wyo. (Release) – Two men are out on bond after being arrested on Assault on a Peace Officer charges.
The first incident occurred Friday, July 8th at 10:48 p.m. when Laramie Police Department Officers responded to a report of a drunk subject. During the investigation, 38-year-old Phillip M. Adkins punched one of the Officers in the face and was arrested for misdemeanor public intoxication and charged with Assault on a Peace Officer, (WS 6-5-205b).
The second incident occurred early Sunday morning, July 10, 2022, at approximately 12:25 a.m., when Laramie Police Officers broke up a fight at 2nd and Ivinson. During the investigation into the fight, 21-year-old Colin R. Walter punched one officer in the face and elbowed a second Officer in the face as well. Walter was arrested and charged with Assault on a Peace Officer, (WS 6-5-204b), as well as misdemeanor Fighting in Public.

Wyoming Statute 6-5-204b states A person who intentionally and knowingly causes or attempts to cause bodily injury to a peace officer engaged in the lawful performance of his official duties is guilty of a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than ten (10) years.
These charges are merely accusations, and the subjects are considered innocent unless and until convicted in a court of law.
