22 pounds of marijuana seized, 2 people arrested following search warrant at Richmond smoke shop


RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Two people have been arrested after detectives with the Richmond Police Department executed a search warrant at a local smoke shop, where over 22 pounds of marijuana were found.

Following an initial investigation, detectives with the First Precinct Focus Mission Team executed a search warrant at around 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11 at the shop, located at 1806 Fairmount Avenue.

According to the Richmond Police Department, detectives found more than 22 pounds of marijuana and several products that contained tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

Police said Sidi Ahmed Boussat, 27, of Henrico County, was arrested for the possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.

Forty-eight-year-old Lloyd McDaniels, of the Midlothian area of Chesterfield County, who police said was also on scene, was arrested for four unrelated felony warrants out of the city.
