ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A 67-year-old Albemarle County man is dead after a Tuesday morning head-on crash involving a box truck.
Just after 8 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, units with both the Albemarle County Police Department and Albemarle County Fire Rescue were called to Monacan Trail Road in the area of Rock Branch Lane for the report of a two-vehicle crash.
When they arrived, first responders found that a pickup truck and a box truck had collided head-on.
The driver of the pickup truck, who police identified as 67-year-old Randall D. Bickel of the Covesville area, died at the scene.
The driver of the box truck was not identified by police. They were taken to a local hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
