Several Hanover neighborhoods see water pressure issues due to water main break

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A water main break is causing issues with water pressure for many Hanover County residents Monday evening. It’s the second water main break the county has seen in less than a month.

As of 5:22 p.m. on Monday, July 14, crews with the Hanover County Department of Public Utilities are working to isolate a water main break.

While the exact location of the water main break was not shared, officials said that residents in the following neighborhoods are experiencing issues with water pressure due to said break:

  • Ashcreek
  • Foxhead
  • Milestone
  • King’s Charter

“Additional areas may also be impacted,” the county said.

Crews are working to restore normal water service “as quickly as possible,” per officials.

“Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to resolve this issue,” the county said.

Less than a month ago, on June 21, a boil water advisory was issued for parts of Hanover due to a water main break near the Doswell Water Treatment Plant. The advisory was lifted on June 23.

At this time, a boil water advisory has not been issued for any part of the county in connection with Monday’s break.
