The National Football League has unanimous voted for a second Las Vegas Super Bowl. The announcement came following after a league annual meeting of team owners in Phoenix, where they decided Allegiant Stadium will serve as the venue for the championship game in 2029, following the massive success of the 2024 game held there.
The decision to have Super Bowl LXIII return to Sin City follows the successful execution of the 2024 championship game. According to data provided by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, the previous event attracted more than 330,000 visitors and generated an economic impact exceeding 1 billion dollars for the region. League officials cited the city’s ability to provide a high level of energy and hospitality as a primary reason for the rapid return.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell expressed enthusiasm regarding another Las Vegas Super Bowl, noting that the city has established itself as a premier destination for major sports and entertainment events. He highlighted the collaboration between the league, the Raiders organization, and local civic leaders as a cornerstone of the hosting agreement.
The 2029 selection adds to an increasingly dense calendar of major sporting events for the city. Allegiant Stadium is already scheduled to host the College Football Playoff national championship in 2027 and the NCAA Final Four in 2028. Additionally, the region expects further growth in its professional sports portfolio with the anticipated arrival of the Athletics in a new stadium and a potential professional basketball expansion team around the same period.
Raiders owner Mark Davis credited the selection to the collective efforts of the community and local leadership. He stated that while the first hosting experience in 2024 set a high standard for the league, the organizers are committed to exceeding those benchmarks for the 2029 edition.
The upcoming Las Vegas Super Bowl will be preceded by championship games in other major markets. The league is set to play its next title game in California, with Atlanta scheduled to host in 2028. As part of the 2029 festivities, the city will host a full roster of league sanctioned events, including the NFL Honors ceremony and various fan experiences located throughout the metropolitan area and the Las Vegas Strip.
