Chocolate, Wine and Whiskey Festival held at Main Street Station in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The Chocolate, Wine, and Whiskey Festival kicked off in Richmond on Saturday with a variety of desserts and drinks for attendees to enjoy.

On Saturday, Feb. 8, the Chocolate, Wine and Whiskey Festival was held at Main Street Station in Richmond where attendees could “enjoy chocolate in a multitude of decadent presentations.” There were also choices of premium wines, champagne, prosecco and fine whiskeys.

Tickets to the event included access to a variety of pastries, cookies, donuts, cake pops and more.

8News spoke with Shara McGee, owner of Sweet McGee LLC, about what she hopes to gain from Saturday’s event.

“I want to expand my reach, personal reach, but also I’m a person who likes to celebrate with food. That’s just what my family does, and so sharing it with other people makes me feel like I’m blessing other people as well as myself,” McGee said.

McGee also said the event is important for both vendors and locals.

“It’s incredibly important to the vendors because they get to put themselves out there, and people who wouldn’t have known they were out there, they come and see them in one place. I think the people in Richmond and in surrounding areas enjoy being social and getting to sample different things that they weren’t aware of. So I think they have as much fun as the vendors do,” McGee said.
