RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Looking for gluten-free food options? Many restaurants in the Richmond area offer a variety of gluten-free meals and desserts to enjoy.
8News has compiled a list of eight restaurants in the Richmond area that offer gluten-free food options on their menu.
WPA Bakery
- Location: 3414 Semmes Avenue
- Hours of Operation: Open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays, and 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays
According to the bakery’s website, WPA Bakery makes gluten-free donuts every Sunday. Some of WPA Bakery’s gluten-free offerings include cookies, cupcakes, brownies and muffins. The bakery also makes gluten-free cakes, pies and cheesecakes.
Toast New American Gastropub
- Location: 7007 Three Chopt Rd.
- Hours of Operation: Open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays, 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays, and 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturdays.
Gluten-free items on Toast New American Gastropub’s menu include pork nachos, loaded cheese fries and shrimp tacos. Many of the restaurant’s burgers and sandwiches offer a gluten-free option. For weekend brunch, huevos rancheros, waffles and chorizo tacos are some of the gluten-free options.
The Roosevelt
- Location: 623 N. 25th St.
- Hours of Operation: Open from 5 to 10 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays, and 5 to 9 p.m. Sundays
According to The Roosevelt’s menu, all of the entrees the restaurant offers are gluten-free or have a gluten-free option. Gluten-free options for the restaurant’s small plates include smoked chicken wings, village garden tomatoes and compressed watermelon.
Secret Sandwich Society
- Location: 501 E. Grace St.
- Hours of Operation: Open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays
Gluten-free starter options at Secret Sandwich Society include pimento cheese fries, sticky ribs and hot chicken wings. All of the sandwiches’ bread can be subbed for a gluten-free bread. The menu also offers gluten-free chocolate chip cookies made in house.
Garnett’s
- Location: 2001 Park Avenue
- Hours of Operation: Open from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 4 to 9 p.m. every day
According to its website, all of the sides and the soup of the day offered at Garnett’s are always gluten-free. The restaurant can substitute its bread to be gluten-free for any sandwich on its menu and ensures no cross contamination occurs when it is requested.
The Daily Kitchen & Bar
- Location: 2934 W. Cary St.
- Hours of Operation: The dinner menu is available from 4 to 9 p.m. every day. The lunch menu is available from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and a brunch menu is available from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
The Daily Kitchen & Bar’s brunch, lunch and dinner menus all offer gluten-free options. Some of the gluten-free food options include pizzas and sandwiches. Main dishes include roasted half chicken, certified angus filet and “steak frites,” which is a grilled bistro steak with french fries and chimichurri sauce. All of the restaurant’s food bowls are also gluten-free.
Laura Lee’s
- Location: 3410 Semmes Avenue
- Hours of Operation: Dinner is served from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 5 to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Brunch is served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
Marinated figs, grilled eggplant and roasted swordfish are some of the gluten-free options on Laura Lee’s dinner menu. For brunch, the restaurant offers seared crab cakes, steak and sunny eggs, as well as Greek yogurt with chia seed granola.
En Su Boca
- Location: 1001 N. Arthur Ashe Boulevard
- Hours of Operation: Open from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. every day
According to En Su Boca’s menu, gluten-free options are available for its burritos and tacos. Appetizers include grilled street corn, chicken wings and sweet potato fries.
