LIST: Veterans Day events and ceremonies throughout the Richmond area



RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Looking to honor those who served on Veterans Day? Here’s a list of ceremonies and celebrations on Monday, Nov. 11, throughout the Richmond area.

Virginia War Memorial in Richmond

The Commonwealth of Virginia’s 68th Annual Veterans Day Ceremony will span from 11 a.m. to noon on Monday in the E. Bruce Heilman Amphitheater at the Virginia War Memorial.

Attendees will hear from guest speakers, listen to patriotic music and learn the winners of the annual Virginia War Memorial’s Student Essay Contest.

Chesterfield County Fairgrounds

Chesterfield County’s annual Veteran’s Day Ceremony will span from 2 to 3 p.m. on Monday at the county fairgrounds, located at 10300 Courthouse Road.

Visitors will hear a keynote address, see living history displays, listen to musical performances and see the presentation of banners.

Brightpoint Community College in Chesterfield County

A Veterans Day Ceremony will be held at Brightpoint Community College’s Chester Campus in the Nicholas Center at 11 a.m. on Monday.

The ceremony will include performances, keynote speakers, a presentation of awards and memorial tree planting.

Hanover Wayside Park

Hanover County Parks and Recreation will host its annual Veterans Day Ceremony at Hanover Wayside Park at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 11.

Pamplin Historical Park in Dinwiddie County

From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, through Monday, Nov. 11, attendees at Pamplin Park will be able to enjoy multiple programs, including World War I living history demonstrations, displays, presentations, war games and more.

Free admission will be offered to all active-duty military, reservists, retirees, veterans and national guardsmen.
