New business recovery centers announced for businesses impacted by Richmond water crisis

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Small businesses impacted by the January water crisis who wish to apply for emergency loans can get hands-on help with their applications at upcoming work sessions.

Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) have been made available for small businesses, as well as private and non-profit organizations, that need financial assistance as a direct result of the Richmond water crisis that took place earlier this year.

The loans are being offered separately from the city’s own Small Business Recovery Grant Fund.

Eligible small businesses are those in the city of Richmond or in Fluvanna, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, Chesterfield, Charles City, Cumberland, King William, Louisa, New Kent, Powhatan and Spotsylvania counties.

Applications for disaster declarations can be submitted online using the MySBA Loan Portal or at any U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Business Recovery Centers.

A virtual information session on these loans will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 24. You can register to attend online.
