New escape room business opens in Petersburg

PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — A new escape room business has opened its doors in Petersburg, offering three traditional escape rooms, virtual reality escape rooms and hero zone VR games.

According to a social post from the city’s Facebook page, Davida and Enos Stevenson are the owners of Escape Old Towne, the new establishment located in the heart of Old Towne Petersburg on 104 N. Sycamore Street.

Currently, they have three traditional escape rooms, including the Mad Tea Party, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and Area 51, according to Escape Old Towne’s website. All of these escape rooms are $25 per person.

But the new business also has virtual reality (VR) capabilities, which include VR escape rooms and hero zone VR games.

The following VR escape rooms are currently available for booking:

• Depths of Osiris
• Dragon Tower
• Time Travel Paradox
• Manor Escape
• Manor Escape
• Runaway Train

The following hero zone VR games are also currently available for booking:

• Dead Ahead
• Cyber Shock
• Quantum Arena
• Arrowsong
• Cook’d Up Burger Beef

City Manager March Altman, Petersburg Master Commissioner of the Revenue Brittany Flowers and SOVA Southern Virginia Chamber of Commerce welcomed them to Petersburg along with many of their family and friends during the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Guests may purchase gift cards ranging from $25 to $200 on the Escape Old Towne’s website.
