RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Want to do your part while spending time in nature? You can join Friends of the James River Park Thursday morning to remove invasive non-native plants.
From 9 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Sept. 12 at Belle Isle’s Bike Skills Area, volunteers can remove invasive non-native plants and then replace them with native ones.
Volunteers are asked to wear sturdy shoes, long sleeves and long pants, and bring a water bottle, gardening gloves and tools if you have any.
This even happens each Thursday. For more information, visit the organization’s website.
